How Amazon Coupons Work

Most Amazon discounts are entered in one of two places: the promo code box in the cart, or the discount code field on the payment screen in the Amazon app. If you are buying on a phone, the app often has more codes available than the website does.

1. Pick a code. Start with one that has a clear expiry date, because those are the ones the retailer is actively rotating.
2. Add your items first. A minimum spend condition can only be checked against a populated cart.
3. Paste the code exactly. Some codes are case-sensitive, and a trailing space will be rejected.
4. Apply it and check the total. The discount should show on the order summary before you pay.

If the code is refused, the offer is usually limited to a specific product range, a minimum spend that was not reached, or an order that has to be placed in the app rather than on the website.

How to Spot an Expired Amazon Coupon

Coupon codes for Amazon are not permanent. Retailers change them as a campaign starts, ends or rotates, and a code that worked last week may be refused today. That is normal, and it is why every code on this page carries its expiry date where one was published.
